RESOLUTION
Consequent upon the introduction of Revised scales of Pay under the
Gujarat Civil Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 1998, the question of deciding
entitlements to travel on LTC was under consideration of Government. On
acceptance of Fifth Pay Commission's recommendations on entitlements to faze;
on I..TC. Government of. India has issued orders with effi t from' 1-10.1998 vide
Notifications at Sr. No.5 & 6 shown in preamble. Accordingly, State Government
is pleased to prescribe the entitlements on the basis of pay to travel or. LTC for
different ranges of pay as under :-
(A) Journey by Air/Rail:
Pay Rang Entitlement
Rs. 18,400 and above Air Economy (Y) Class by National
Carriers or AC First Class by train, at
their option.
Rs. 16,400 and above but less AC First Class
than Rs. 18,400
Rs: 8,000 and above but less II AC II-tier Sleeper.

Rs. 4 , 100 and above but less First Class /Ac LII tier
than Rs. 8,000. Sleeper/AC Chair Car.-*
Below Rs. 4,100 Second Sleeper

* All Government servants who are entitled to travel on LTC by First Class/AC I1Itier Sleeper/AC Chair Car may, at their discretion, travel by AC 11-tier Sleeper in
cases where any of the ' trains connecting the originating and destination stations
connected by the direct shortest route do not provide these classes of
accommodation.

NOTE:- Entitlement by Rajdhani/Shatabdi Trains would be applicable in cases
where journey is actually undetaken by these trains and not for determining.

journey and the destination should be directly connected by Rajdhani /Shatabdi
Express.

(i) Rs. 18,400 and above. Actual fare by any type of public bus,
including air-conditioned bus; OR
At prescribed rates for AC Taxi/Taxi
(A.C. Taxi when the journey is actually
performed by AC Taxi) for journey to
the places not connected. by rail subject
to condition- that, the claim shall be
restricted to the bus fare by entitled
class or the fare actually paid,
whichever is less-
(ii) Rs. 8,000 and above but less
than Ri;. 18,400. Same as at (i) above and with the exception that journeys by AC Taxi will not
be ssible.

(iii) Rs. 6,500 and above but less
than Rs. 8,000.
(iv) Rs. 4,100 and above but less
than Rs. 6,500.
(v) Below Rs. 4,100.
Same as at (ii) above. with the -exception
that journeys by air-condition bus will
not be permissible..
Actual fare by any type, of public bus
other than air- eond:itioned bus: OR 1- 4 1.
At prescribed rate for Autorickshaw for
journey to places not connected by rail
subject to condition that the claim shall
be restricted to bus fare by entitled class
or the fare actually paid, whichever is
less.

As at (iv) above with the condition that
the claim shall be restricted to the bus
. NOTE:- In all cases of travel by AC Taxi, Taxi or Autorickshaw
production of fare receipt will be necessary.
All journeys performed after 1-10-98 should be in accordance with the
entitlements prescribed above. The Controlling/Drawing & Disbursing Officers are
authorised to regularise as per the provisions of this Government Resolution, the
cases settled before issuance of this Government Resolution.
Other conditions governing the scheme stand unmodified.
