This app scans notes through mobile camera. It also provides audio input in Hindi and English, that is, it tells how much the note is worth.


App feature

An official statement was released by the RBI on Wednesday, stating, "Through this mobile app, visually impaired people will be able to recognize currency notes." Which the blind people will be able to easily identify. This includes seal printing, touch marks, convertible banknote size, large numbers, variable colors and monochromatic patterns, etc. Apart from this, this app can also identify curved notes. The app is also unique in that it can be controlled by voice as well. This app will also be able to recognize Mahatma Gandhi series and Mahatma Gandhi new series notes.


After the note ban in November 2016, the central government had issued currency notes of Mahatma Gandhi series. The size and design of these notes varied. The new series notes include 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 2,000 rupee notes. In such a situation, the visually challenged were having trouble identifying these notes. Therefore, the RBI solved this problem of the blind.
